9. Why do we conclude that Jesus is the archangel Michael, and how did Michael honor Jehovah in connection with Moses’ body?

⁹ Jesus Christ further deserves honor because he is Jehovah’s chief angel, or archangel.

The urgency of the warning is emphasized by the fact that the angelic announcer of Babylon’s fall and destruction has great authority and is used as the chief publicity agent for getting this warning declared.

²¹ That means that Michael becomes king in heaven.

Michael stands up to reign during the conflict between “the king of the north” and “the king of the south.”

18. The victory of Michael and his armies ensured what for “the kingdom of our God,” and on that account who could be glad?

¹⁸ Since Michael the archangel and his angels gain the victory and the royal “child” is not unseated from his heavenly throne alongside God, the heavenly announcement is a proper one: “Now have come to pass the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God and the authority of his Christ, because the accuser of our brothers has been hurled down, who accuses them day and night before our God! . . .

14. How is the Hebrew term Săr applied, and so what does it indicate for the faithful ones as to future opportunities?

¹⁴ And when we consider this term prince, translated from the Hebrew word Săr (feminine, Sarah), we see that it is not always nor necessarily applied to the son of a king, to a prince of royal birth who is made a state official or governmental officer.

God’s Agent for providing escape is the archangel Michael, whose name means “Who Is Like God?”

For many years Jehovah’s Witnesses have taught that Michael is a heavenly name for the only-begotten Son of God, who was named Jesus while on earth.

¹⁵ The time of their resurrection is shown in the words: “In the Christ all will be made alive.

But each one in his own rank: Christ [Jesus] the firstfruits, afterward those who belong to the Christ during his presence.” (1 Cor. 15:22, 23, NW)

“In a number of passages we read of an angel who is superior to the six angels forming God’s inner council, and who is regularly described as ‘most venerable’, ‘holy’, and ‘glorious’.

The modest person, who does not think more highly of himself than he ought to think, the humble person, who is of lowly mind, will not be as likely to take offense, will not be as easily annoyed at irritations as the haughty or proud person, and, therefore, will not be as likely to err by giving expression to hot temper.

12. What might those with responsible positions in the Christian congregation learn from Michael’s example?

¹² On the other hand, those with a measure of authority in the congregation may also learn a lesson from Michael.

After all, though Michael was the “archangel,” chief of all the angels, he did not abuse his position of power, even under provocation.

This is already under development, since the end of “the appointed times of the nations” in 1914, of which nations Satan the Devil is the god. (Luke 21:24; 2 Cor. 4:4)

(Le) The angel who brought this prophecy to Daniel said that he was co-operating with the archangel Michael, and that Michael was Daniel’s heavenly “prince.”

Indeed, in his role as archangel, the Word is known as Michael, whose name means “Who Is Like God?” and indicates how he champions Jehovah against all who aspire to usurp God’s sovereignty.—Daniel 12:1; Revelation 12:7-10.

First in position is Michael the archangel, whom the Scriptures show is none other than the Word, or Chief Spokesman for God, who became the man Jesus Christ. (Dan. 12:1; John 1:1; Rev. 12:7)

14, 15. What occurred immediately after Christ’s enthronement that was delightful news in heaven?

¹⁴ At this point the psalm to which the apostle made reference at Hebrews 10:12, 13 had further features fulfilled: “The utterance of Jehovah to my Lord is: ‘Sit at my right hand until I place your enemies as a stool for your feet.’

The Revelation vision expresses the action that followed in this way: “And war broke out in heaven: Michael [Jesus Christ, also called ‘the archangel.’ (Compare Jude 9; 1 Thessalonians 4:16; Daniel 12:1.)] and his angels battled with the dragon, and the dragon and its angels battled but it did not prevail, neither was a place found for them any longer in heaven.

At Christ’s second presence those of the anointed ones who had already died were to be resurrected first.

He issued from his throne a “commanding call, with an archangel’s voice,” to his followers on earth.

What a contrast there was between the disrespectful ‘dreamers’ and Michael the archangel who became our Lord Jesus Christ! (Compare Proverbs 8:22-31; John 6:62; Philippians 2:5-11; 1 Thessalonians 4:15, 16.)

Just following the description in Revelation 19:11-21 of the war at Armageddon, in which Jesus leads the heavenly forces to victory over all earthly opposers, John envisions the abyssing of Satan: “And I saw an angel [undoubtedly the archangel Michael] coming down out of heaven with the key of the abyss and a great chain in his hand.
