The ‘four generations’ following their entering Egypt can be calculated in two ways, using as an example just one tribe of Israel, the tribe of Levi, thus: (1) Levi, (2) Jochebed the daughter of Levi, (3) Aaron and (4) Eleazar, who entered the Promised Land; or by (A) Levi, (B) Kohath, (C) Amram and (D) Moses.—Ex. 6:16, 18, 20, 23; see JOCHEBED.
