IN 1905, Jehovah’s organization published a book entitled Daily Heavenly Manna for the Household of Faith.

That publication provided a scripture text along with comments from Zion’s Watch Tower that brothers and sisters could read each day of the year.

12. What provision is available for adding to our knowledge every day? Is this just for Jehovah’s witnesses?

¹² As regular daily eating of food keeps us strong so daily feeding on God’s Word strengthens us, not just for that day; but having added to the knowledge we already have, we progress on to maturity and to full growth, imitating our example, Christ Jesus.

¹³ Families are encouraged to make a habit of considering the daily text from Examining the Scriptures Daily.

Daily the theocratic father and mother should give oral instruction to their children.

At the morning meal the oral instruction should center around the daily text and comment provided by the Society in its annual yearbooks.

In line with wise King Solomon’s counsel to “send out your bread upon the surface of the waters” (Ecclesiastes 11:1), they decided to be generous in dispensing spiritual bread by making good use of the daily Bible text provided by The Watchtower. (This was before the Yearbook was published in their language.)

I just finished copying the daily text into my notebook.

Read the Bible daily, and keep a list of verses that you find particularly helpful.

Many have also found the daily text to be an effective way to start the day with an encouraging thought from the Bible.

Each day, the brothers taking the lead would choose a Bible text to consider.

During our daily half-hour walks in the yard, we were not as interested in exercise and fresh air as in benefiting from the day’s Bible text.

Another thing that kept us strong and unified as a family was reading the daily text together in the morning.

9. What good habit should Christian parents form, and how can teaching be employed therein?

⁹ One good habit for Christian parents to form is the consideration of a Bible text each day.

Jehovah’s witnesses subscribe to this idea by reading the text and comments outlined for each day in the Yearbook of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

For daily reading you should have the 1960 Yearbook of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

Not only does it contain stimulating experiences of the Christian ministry world-wide, but it also provides daily consideration of God’s Word through the Daily Texts and Comments.

Many persons receive daily God’s provisions without thinking of their source.

How well the text chosen for the year 1956 has been fulfilled can best be determined by reading the thrilling 1957 Yearbook of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

The Yearbook also sets forth a text for consideration for each day, with a comment on each daily text.
