John
6 After this one, Jesus come cross go the other side of the Sea of Galʹi·lee, or Ti·beʹri·as. 2 And plenty-plenty people continue to de follow-am, because them de see the miracles wey e de do as e de heal sick people. 3 So Jesus climb go one mountain and sitdown for there with im disciples. 4 That time, the Passover, wey be the festival of Jew people don near. 5 When Jesus look up and see say plenty-plenty people de come meet-am, e come ask Philip say: “Where we go buy bread wey this people go chop?” 6 But e talk this one to test-am, because e know wetin e go soon do. 7 Philip come answer-am say: “Even bread wey reach two hundred de·narʹi·i no go reach them even if na small them give each of them.” 8 One of im disciples, Andrew, wey be Simon Peter brother come tell-am say: 9 “One small boy dey here wey get five barley bread and two small fish, but wetin this one go fit do for this plenty people?”
10 Jesus come talk say: “Tell the people make them sitdown.” As plenty grass dey that place, the men come sitdown for there. Them dey about 5,000. 11 Jesus come take the bread and after e don thank God, e come share-am give the people wey sitdown for there. E do the same thing with the small fish, and the people chop as them like. 12 But after them don chop belleful, e tell im disciples say: “Make una gather the pieces wey remain so that nothing go waste.” 13 So them gather the pieces wey the people wey chop the five barley bread chop remain, and them full 12 baskets.
14 When the people see the miracle wey e do, them come start to talk say: “True-true, na this person be the Prophet wey them talk say e go come the world.” 15 Then, when Jesus know say them want come hold-am to make-am king, e comot from there go mountain alone.
16 When evening reach, im disciples come go sea, 17 and them enter boat de cross the sea go Ca·perʹna·um. For this time, day don dark and Jesus never come meet them. 18 Another thing be say, the sea don de rough because strong breeze de blow. 19 But when them don go about three or four miles,* them come see Jesus wey de waka ontop the sea, and de come near the boat, fear come catch them. 20 But e tell them say: “Na me, make una no fear!” 21 Then, them come happy to welcome-am enter the boat, and e no tey before the boat reach land for where them de go.
22 The next day, the plenty people wey be dey the other side of the sea come see say no other boat dey there. One small boat dey there before, but Jesus no enter that boat with im disciples, because na only im disciples go by theirself. 23 But boats wey come from Ti·beʹri·as come reach the place where them be chop bread after the Lord don thank God. 24 So when the plenty people see say Jesus and im disciples no dey there, them come enter their boats come Ca·perʹna·um to find Jesus.
25 When them see-am for the other side of the sea, them come ask-am say: “Rabbi, which time you reach here?” 26 Jesus come answer them say: “True-true, I de tell una say, no be because una see miracles na im make una de find me, but na because una chop the bread and belleful. 27 So, make una no work for food wey de spoil, but make una work for the food wey no go ever spoil and wey go give life wey no go end, wey the Son of man go give una; because na this one God imself, wey be the Papa, don put im stamp say e approve-am.”
28 So them ask-am say: “Wetin we suppose do so that we go fit do God work?” 29 Jesus come answer them say: “Na the work of God be this, say make una put faith for the person wey e send.” 30 Then, them ask-am say: “Which miracle you go do so that we go see-am and believe you? Which work you go do? 31 Our papa-papa them chop manna for wilderness, just as them write-am say: ‘E give them bread from heaven make them chop.’” 32 Then Jesus tell them say: “True-true I de tell una say, Moses no give una bread from heaven, but my Papa de give una the real bread wey come from heaven. 33 Because the bread of God na the one wey come from heaven, and e de give the world life.” 34 So them tell-am say: “Lord, make you de always give us this bread.”
35 Jesus come tell them say: “Na me be the bread of life. Anybody wey come meet me no go ever hungry, and anybody wey put faith for me, water no go ever hungry-am. 36 But as I don tell una before, una don see me, still una no de believe. 37 All the people wey my Papa don give me go come meet me, and I no go ever pursue the person wey come meet me. 38 Because no be say I come from heaven come do wetin I want, but na to do wetin the Person wey send me want. 39 Na wetin the Person wey send me want be this, say make I no lose any one of all the people wey e don give me, but say make I resurrect them for the last day. 40 Because na wetin my Papa want be this, say make everybody wey accept the Son and put faith for-am get life wey no go end, and I go resurrect-am for the last day.”
41 Then the Jew people come de complain about-am because e talk say: “Na me be the bread wey come from heaven.” 42 And them start to talk say: “No be Jesus, the son of Joseph be this, wey we know im papa and im mama? How e come de talk now say, ‘I come from heaven’?” 43 Jesus come answer them say: “Make una stop to complain to each other. 44 Nobody fit come meet me, unless say the Papa wey send me draw-am come, and I go resurrect-am for the last day. 45 Them write-am for inside the books of the Prophets say: ‘Jehovah go teach all of them.’ Everybody wey don listen to my Papa and don learn de come meet me. 46 Nobody don ever see the Papa, except the person wey come from-am,* na this one don see the Papa. 47 True-true, I de tell una say anybody wey believe go get life wey no go end.
48 “Na me be the bread of life. 49 Una papa-papa them chop manna for wilderness, but them still die. 50 This na the bread wey come from heaven, so that anybody fit chop from-am, and e no go die. 51 Na me be the living bread wey come from heaven, if anybody chop this bread, e go live forever and the truth be say, the bread wey I go give na my body, so that people for the world go get life.”
52 Then the Jew people come de follow each other argue, de talk say: “How this man go give us im body make we chop?” 53 So Jesus tell them say: “True-true, I de tell una say, unless say una chop the body of the Son of man and drink im blood, una no get life inside unaself. 54 Anybody wey chop my body and drink my blood go get life wey no go end and I go resurrect-am for the last day. 55 Because my body na the real food and my blood na the real drink. 56 Anybody wey chop my body and drink my blood go continue to dey as one with me, and I go dey as one with-am. 57 Just as the Papa wey dey alive send me and I dey alive because of the Papa, na so anybody wey chop my body go still dey alive because of me too. 58 This na the bread wey come from heaven. E no be like the time wey una papa-papa them chop and them still die. Anybody wey chop this bread go live forever.” 59 E talk this things when e de teach people for one synagogue* for Ca·perʹna·um.
60 When them hear this one, many of im disciples come talk say: “Na which kind rubbish talk be this? Who fit listen to-am?” 61 But as Jesus know say im disciples de complain about this one, e come ask them say: “This one make una faith weak?* 62 How e go come be if una see the Son of man as e de go up to where e dey before? 63 Na the spirit de give life, the body no get any use at all. The things wey I tell una na spirit and them de give life. 64 But e get some of una wey no believe.” Because from the beginning, Jesus know the people wey no believe, and the person wey go sell-am give im enemies. 65 E still tell them say: “Na because of this one I tell una say, nobody fit come meet me unless say the Papa allow-am.”
66 Because of this one, many of im disciples comot go back to the things wey them don leave before, and them no follow-am waka again. 67 So Jesus tell the 12 apostles say: “Una want go too?” 68 Simon Peter come answer-am say: “Lord, na who we go go meet? You de talk things wey go make person get life wey no go end. 69 We don believe and we don know say na you be the Holy One of God.” 70 Jesus come answer them say: “Na 12 of una I choose, no be so? But one of una na person wey de spoil another person name.”* 71 The truth be say, e de talk about Judas, wey be son of Simon Is·carʹi·ot, because na this one go sell-am give im enemies, even though say e be one of the Twelve.
