Intukuthelo elawulwayo ingase ibe efanelekile. Ngokwesibonelo, intukuthelo kaNkulunkulu yavuthela imizi yasendulo, eyayiziphethe kabi yaseSodoma naseGomora. (Genesise 19:24) Ngani? Ngoba izakhamuzi zakuleyo mizi zazihileleke emikhubeni yobulili enobudlova nokuziphatha okubi, njengoba kwakwaziwa kabanzi kuleso sifunda. Abantu abangaphelele nabo ngezinye izikhathi bangathukuthela ngokufanelekile. Cabangela okwenzeka kuMose. Isizwe sakwa-Israyeli sasisanda kukhululwa ngendlela eyisimangaliso eGibithe. UJehova wayebonise amandla akhe amakhulu konkulunkulu bamanga baseGibithe ngokushaya abantu baseGibithe ngezinhlupho eziyishumi. Khona-ke wavulela ama-Israyeli indlela yokubaleka ngokuhlukanisa uLwandle Olubomvu. Kamuva, aholelwa ngaphansi kweNtaba YaseSinayi, lapho ahlelwa khona njengesizwe. Njengomxhumanisi, uMose wakhuphukela entabeni ukuze ayolanda imithetho kaNkulunkulu. Kanye neminye imithetho, uJehova wanikeza uMose iMiyalo Eyishumi, eyayibhalwe “ngomunwe kaNkulunkulu” ezibhebheni zamatshe ezazenziwe uNkulunkulu ngokwakhe entabeni. Nokho, lapho uMose ehla, watholani? Abantu base bephendukele ekukhulekeleni isithombe sethole legolide! Yeka ukuthi babesheshe kangakanani ukukhohlwa! Kwakusadlule amasonto ambalwa nje. Kamuva, uMose wathukuthela lapho abantu bekhononda ngokuntuleka kwamanzi. Ecasukile, okwesikhashana waphelelwa ukuthobeka, noma umoya wobumnene aziwa ngawo. Lokhu kwaholela ephutheni elingathi sína. Kunokuba aphakamise uJehova njengoMnakekeli ka-Israyeli, uMose wakhuluma nabantu ngesankahlu futhi wadonsela ukunakekela kuye nakumfowabo u-Aroni. Ngakho, uNkulunkulu wabona kufanelekile ukuba amjezise uMose. Wayengenakuvunyelwa ukuba angene ezweni lesithembiso. Ngemva kwalesi senzakalo saseMeriba, akukhulunywa ndawo ngoMose ethukuthele. UJehova ‘angayilawula intukuthelo yakhe’ futhi uchazwa ngokufanelekile ngokuthi ‘uyephuza ukuthukuthela’ ngoba uthando, hhayi intukuthelo, luyimfanelo yakhe evelele. Umuntu ophelele uJesu Kristu njalo wayekwazi ukulawula indlela ayebonakalisa ngayo intukuthelo yakhe; wayechazwa ngokuthi ‘unomoya omnene.’ (Mathewu 11:29) Ngakolunye uhlangothi, abantu abangaphelele, ngisho nabantu abanokholo njengoMose, baye baba nobunzima ekulawuleni intukuthelo yabo.
Futhi, ngokuvamile abantu bayehluleka ukucabangisisa ngemiphumela. Kungaba nemiphumela engemihle ngenxa yokuthukuthela. Ngokwesibonelo, yimiphi imiphumela esobala eba khona lapho indoda ithukuthelela umkayo kuze kube seqophelweni lokuba ibhodloze udonga ngesibhakela? Impahla iyalimala. Isandla sayo singase silimale. Kodwa ngaphezu kwalokho, yimuphi umphumela intukuthelo yakhe engaba nawo endleleni umkayo ayithanda nayihlonipha ngayo? Udonga lungase lulungiswe ezinsukwini ezimbalwa, futhi nesandla sayo singaphola emasontweni ambalwa; kodwa kuyothatha isikhathi esingakanani ukuba umkayo aphinde ayethembe futhi ayihloniphe?
Eqinisweni, iBhayibheli ligcwele izibonelo zabantu abahluleka ukulawula intukuthelo yabo futhi babhekana nemiphumela yalokho. Cabangela abambalwa. UKayini waxoshwa ngemva kokubulala umfowabo u-Abela. USimeyoni noLevi baqalekiswa uyise ngenxa yokubulala amadoda aseShekemi. UJehova wajezisa u-Uziya ngochoko ngemva kokuba u-Uziya ethukuthelele abapristi ababezama ukumlungisa. Ngokuvamile lihunyushwa ngokuthi “ulaka” futhi linomqondo wokuqaphela ngisho nowokwenza ngamabomu, ngokuvamile ngomqondo wokuphindisela. Ngakho, uPawulu wayala amaKristu aseRoma: “Ningaziphindiseleli, bathandekayo, kodwa qhelelani ulaka [or·geʹ]; ngoba kulotshiwe: ‘Ingeyami impindiselo; ngizobuyisela mina, kusho uJehova.’” Kunokuba abambele abafowabo amagqubu, akhuthazwa ukuba “[anqobe] okubi ngokuhle.”—Roma 12:19, 21.

Intukuthelo engalawulwa iyabhubhisa futhi ingaholela kalula ebudloveni. Khona-ke, ngokunengqondo uJesu wathi: “Ngithi kini wonke umuntu oqhubeka ethukuthelele umfowabo uyolandisa enkantolo yobulungisa.” (Mathewu 5:21, 22) Amadoda ayelulekwa: “Qhubekani nithanda omkenu futhi ningabathukutheleli kakhulu.” Umuntu ‘othambekele olakeni’ akakufanelekeli ukuba umbonisi ebandleni. Ingabe uJohn, okukhulunywe ngaye ekuqaleni, wagcina ekwazile ukulawula imizwelo yakhe? Ingabe ekugcineni wakwazi ukugwema inhlekelele ayephokophele kuyo? Ngokudabukisayo, ukubhavumula kwadlondlobala kwaba ukusunduza. Ukukhomba umkakhe ngomunwe kwaholela ekumlimazeni ngokoqobo, kabuhlungu, ngawo umunwe. UJohn wayeqikelela ukuba agweme ukulimaza uGinger ezindaweni ezisobala futhi wazama ukufihla ukuziphatha kwakhe. Nokho, ekugcineni, waphendukela ekumkhahleleni, ekumshayeni ngesibhakela, ekumdonseni ngezinwele nakokubi nakakhulu. Manje uGinger uhlala ngokuhlukana noJohn.
Lokhu kwakungamelwe kwenzeke. Abaningi abasezimweni ezifanayo baye bakwazi ukulawula intukuthelo yabo. Ngakho-ke, yeka ukuthi kubaluleke kangakanani ukulingisa isibonelo esiphelele sikaJesu Kristu. Akazange abe necala ngisho nelilodwa lesifuthefuthe sentukuthelo engalawuleki. Intukuthelo yakhe njalo yayilungile; futhi wayeyilawula. Ngokuhlakanipha, uPawulu waseluleka sonke: “Thukuthelani, kodwa nokho ningoni; ilanga malingashoni nisesimweni sokucasuka.” (Efesu 4:26) Uma sikuqaphela ngokuthobeka ukuthi sinokulinganiselwa njengabantu nokuthi siyokuvuna esikutshalayo, kunesizathu esihle sokuthi silawule intukuthelo.
