Umprofethi uNathani uthatha isinyathelo ngokushesha futhi icebo lika-Adoniya liyabhuntsha. Indodana kaDavide uSolomoni ibekwa inkosi. UMBUSO OBUMBENE UHLUKANA PHAKATHI
UJerobowamu nabantu baya eNkosini uRehobowamu ukuyocela ukuba athambise ijoka elabekwa uyise, uSolomoni. Kunokuba enze ngokwesicelo sabo, uRehobowamu uthi uzonezela ejokeni, aliqinise nakakhulu. Izizwe eziyishumi ziyavukela futhi zibeka uJerobowamu inkosi. Umbuso uyahlukana. URehobowamu ubusa umbuso oseningizimu, owakhiwa izizwe zikaJuda noBhenjamini, futhi uJerobowamu ubusa umbuso osenyakatho wezizwe eziyishumi zakwa-Israyeli.
Ukuze avimbele abantu bangayi eJerusalema ukuyokhulekela, uJerobowamu wenza amathole egolide amabili—elinye kwaDani, nelinye eBhethele. Amanye amakhosi abusa kwa-Israyeli ngemva kukaJerobowamu oNadabi, uBhahasha, u-Elahi, uZimri, uThibini, u-Omri, u-Ahabi, no-Ahaziya. U-Abhiyamu, u-Asa, uJehoshafati noJehoramu babusa kwaJuda ngemva kukaRehobowamu. Abaprofethi abaprofethayo ezinsukwini zala makhosi bahlanganisa o-Ahija, uShemaya, umuntu kaNkulunkulu ongashiwongo ngegama, uJehu, u-Eliya noMikhaya.

18:21—Kungani abantu bengathanga vú lapho u-Eliya ebacela ukuba bakhethe ukulandela uJehova noma uBhali? Kungenzeka ukuthi bathula ngenxa yokuthi babona ukuthi babehlulekile ukuzinikela kuJehova kuphela okuyinto emfanele futhi ngenxa yalokho bazizwa benecala. Noma kungenzeka futhi ukuthi onembeza babo base belukhuni ngendlela yokuthi babengaboni phutha ekukhulekeleni uBhali kuyilapho bethi bangabakhulekeli bakaJehova. Kwaze kwaba yilapho uJehova esebabonise amandla akhe lapho bathi khona: “UJehova unguNkulunkulu weqiniso! UJehova unguNkulunkulu weqiniso!”—1 AmaKhosi 18:39.
20:34—Kungani u-Ahabi ayidedela inkosi yamaSiriya, uBheni-hadadi, uJehova esemenze wawanqoba? Kunokuba abulale uBheni-hadadi, u-Ahabi wenza naye isivumelwano sokuba amabele izitaladi enhloko-dolobha yaseSiriya, iDamaseku, cishe ukuze avule izimakethe. Ngaphambili, uyise kaBheni-hadadi naye wayezithathele izitaladi eSamariya ukuze enze ibhizinisi. Ngakho, uBheni-hadadi wadedelwa ukuze u-Ahabi akwazi ukwenza ibhizinisi eDamaseku.

Iyasizuzisa Kakhulu
Lapho elandisa ngokukhishwa koMthetho eNtabeni iSinayi, uMose watshela abantwana bakwa-Israyeli: “Bhekani, ngibeka phambi kwenu namuhla isibusiso nesiqalekiso: isibusiso, uma nje niyoyilalela imiyalo kaJehova uNkulunkulu wenu enginiyala ngayo namuhla; nesiqalekiso, uma ningeke niyilalele imiyalo kaJehova uNkulunkulu wenu kodwa niphambuka endleleni enginiyala ngayo namuhla.”—Duteronomi 11:26-28.
