AMAPROTHESTANI amaningi ayawulahla umqondo wokuthi ukuqiniswa kuyisenzo senkolo. Ukubhapathizwa kwezinsana kwakungesinye sezici eziyinhloko ezaholela esidingweni sesinye isenzo esingokwenkolo. Incwadi iChristianity ithi, “Eqaphela izinkinga ezidalwe ukubhapathizwa kwabantwana, amasonto . . . akhumbuza labo abaye babhapathizwa ngalokho lokhu okukushoyo ‘ngokubaqinisa’ kamuva ekuphileni.” Ingabe ukuqinisa ngempela kubakhumbuza lokho okushiwo ubhapathizo, noma ingabe kufiphaza iqiniso ngobhapathizo?
Iqiniso liwukuthi ukubhapathizwa kwezinsana akusekelwa emiBhalweni. Ngokwesibonelo, ukufafaza ingane ngamanzi, akuyikhululi esonweni sokuqala, ukholo emhlatshelweni kaJesu Kristu wesihlengo kuphela olungenza lokho.
