Isifungo esasithathelwe phezulu sikaSawule salethela uIsrayeli isiqalekiso, kodwa akubonakali ukuthi uJonathani walahlekelwa umusa kaJehova ngenxa yokwephula lesosifungo.
USamuweli wokuQala 14:24-45 ulandisa ngalesenzakalo. AmaIsrayeli, ekhuthazwa ubuqhawe bukaJonathani alwa nezitha zamaFilisti. INkosi uSawule yathi “Makaqalekiswe umuntu odla ukudla kungakahlwi, ngingakaziphindiseli ezitheni zami.” (Ivesi 24) Engasizwanga isifungo sikayise, uJonathani wazinikeza amandla ngokudla izinyosi. Lapho uSawule ecela isiqondiso sikaNkulunkulu ngokuqhubeka nempi, uJehova akaphendulanga. Ngokusebenzisa iThumimi (mhlawumbe eyayihilela inkatho engcwele), uSawule wathola ukuthi indodana yakhe yayisiphulile isifungo esingahlakaniphile. Kodwa eqinisweni, wayenecala elingakanani uJonathani?
Okokuqala cabangela isimo sengqondo seNkosi esenza yenza lesifungo. Ayizange isibonise isifiso sokudumisa uNkulunkulu ngokunqoba amaFilisti. Kunalokho, uSawule ngokuthathela phezulu waqalekisa noma ubani odla ukudla “ngingakaziphindiseli ezitheni zami.” Yebo, isifungo sasekelwa konjalo umbono ophambene wegunya lobukhosi noma entshisekweni engafanele. Akukho lapho umlando ubonisa khona ukuthi uNkulunkulu wabheka uJonathani njengowayenecala. Eqinisweni, nakuba uJonathani ayezimisele ukuvuma imiphumela yokwephula isifungo esingalungile sikayise, izimo zenza ukuba ukuphila kukaJonathani kusindiswe. Amasosha akwaIsrayeli athi uJonathani usebenzile “noNkulunkulu,” futhi ngandlelathile amhlenga uJonathani. Eminyakeni elandelayo, kwakuwuJonathani owaqhubeka enokuvunyelwa uJehova njengoba uSawule ayeqhubeka enza amaphutha ngokulandelana.
◼ Babebangaki abahluleli ababekhona, abanjengoSamsoni noGideyoni?
Lapho ubala abahluleli, inani olitholayo lixhomeke endleleni obheka ngayo amanye amaIsrayeli Kodwa ngokuqondile kungase kuthiwe amadoda ayi-12 akhonza njengabahluleli phakathi kukaJoshuwa noSamuweli.
Ngezinsuku zikaMose noJoshuwa, amadoda athile amadala ebandleni ayengabahluleli ngomqondo wokuthi ayekhethwe ukuba alalele futhi anqume izindaba ezingokomthetho. (Eksodusi 18:21, 22; Joshuwa 8:33, 23:2) Ngemva kokufa kukaJoshuwa, amaIsrayeli aphambuka ekukhulekeleni kweqiniso futhi ahlushwa abanye abantu. AbAhluleli 2:16 bathi: “UJehova wavusa abahluleli ababasindisa esandleni sababaphangayo.” Okokuqala uJehova wabavusela umahluleli, noma ‘umsindisi,’ ogama lakhe linguOtheniyeli. (AbAhluleli 3:9) Ngemva kwalokho kwalandela uEhudi, uShamgari, uBaraki, uGideyoni, uThola, uJayiri, uJefta, ulbisane, uEloni, uAbidoni, noSamsoni.

(AbAhluleli 4:4; 1 Samuweli 4:16-18; 7:15, 16) Nokho, uDebora okokuqala ubizwa njengomprofethikazi, futhi uhlanganiswa nomahluleli uBaraki, owahola ikakhulukazi ekukhipheni abantu ekucindezelweni.
