3 Solʹo·mon made a marriage alliance with Pharʹaoh king of Egypt. He married* Pharʹaoh’s daughter+ and brought her to the City of David+ until he finished building his own house,+ and the house of Jehovah,+ and the wall around Jerusalem.+

8 The house* where he was to live, at the other courtyard,+ was set back from the Hall,* and it was similar in workmanship. He also built a house similar to this Hall for Pharʹaoh’s daughter, whom Solʹo·mon had taken as a wife.+

11 Solʹo·mon also brought Pharʹaoh’s daughter+ up from the City of David to the house that he had built for her,+ for he said: “Although she is my wife, she should not dwell in the house of King David of Israel, for the places to which the Ark of Jehovah has come are holy.”+
