20 But Jehovah of armies judges with righteousness;

He examines the innermost thoughts* and the heart.+

Let me see your vengeance on them,

For to you I have committed my legal case.

 3 But you know me well, O Jehovah,+ you see me;

You have examined my heart and found it in union with you.+

Single them out like sheep for slaughtering,

And set them apart for the day of killing.

18 Let my persecutors be put to shame,+

But do not let me be put to shame.

Let them be struck with terror,

But do not let me be struck with terror.

Bring the day of calamity on them,+

And crush them and destroy them completely.*
