35 And some of those standing near, on hearing it, began to say: “See! He is calling E·liʹjah.” 36 Then someone ran, soaked a sponge in sour wine, put it on a reed, and gave it to him to drink,+ saying: “Let him be! Let us see whether E·liʹjah comes to take him down.”
