45 When the chief priests and the Pharisees heard his illustrations, they knew that he was speaking about them.+46 Although they wanted to seize* him, they feared the crowds, because these regarded him as a prophet.+
18 And the chief priests and the scribes heard it, and they began to seek how to kill him;+ for they were in fear of him, because all the crowd was astounded at his teaching.+
19 The scribes and the chief priests then sought to get their hands on him in that very hour, but they feared the people, for they realized that he told this illustration with them in mind.+
