KAREAH
(Ka·reʹah) [Bald; Baldness].
A man of Judah whose sons Johanan and Jonathan were chiefs of military forces in Judah. This was at the time Gedaliah was commissioned by the king of Babylon to govern the Judeans who had not been taken into Babylonian exile following the destruction of Jerusalem in 607 B.C.E.—2Ki 25:21-23; Jer 40:7, 8.
