⁸ The deliberate practicer of sin “originates with the Devil,” who has been sinning “from the beginning” of his career of rebellion against Jehovah. But God’s Son “was made manifest” to “break up” Satan’s “works” of promoting sin and evil. This includes undoing the effects of Adamic death by sin atonement through Christ and the resurrecting of those in Sheol (Hades), as well as the crushing of Satan’s head. (Genesis 3:15; 1 Corinthians 15:26) Meanwhile, let us, the anointed remnant and the “great crowd,” guard against practicing sin and unrighteousness.
