22 “If person thief one bull or one sheep and e kill-am or sell-am, e go pay for-am with five bulls for the bull and four sheep for the sheep.

“The thief must pay for wetin e do. If e no get anything, then them must sell-am for the things wey e thief. 4 If them see say wetin e thief still dey alive with-am, whether na bull or donkey or sheep, e go pay times two.
5 “If anybody take im animals go chop food for bush or for vine farm, and e allow them chop for another person land, e go pay with the best things wey im own land produce or with the best things from im own vine farm.
6 “If fire start and e spread enter chuku-chuku bush and e burn the bundles of grain wey them don cut and gather or the ones wey them never cut wey still stand or e burn the land, the person wey start the fire must pay for wetin don burn.
7 “If person give im neighbor money or anything to keep and them thief this things from the neighbor house, if them catch the thief, e must pay times two for wetin e do. 8 If them no catch the thief, them go bring the person wey get the house come front of the true God, so that them fit know whether e take* im neighbor things. 9 Anytime wey person talk say another person dey with property wey no be im own, whether na bull, donkey, sheep, cloth, or anything wey lost wey e fit talk say, ‘This thing na my own!’ make the two of them bring their matter come front of the true God. The person wey the true God talk say im hand no clean, go pay im neighbor times two for wetin e do.
10 “If person give im neighbor donkey or bull or sheep or any animal wey de live with people to keep for-am, and the animal die or e get serious injury or person carry-am comot when nobody dey there, 11 make the person wey them give the animal to keep swear for front of Jehovah say e no do anything to* im neighbor property; and the person wey get the animal must accept wetin e talk. The other person no go pay for wetin happen. 12 But if na thief them thief the animal from the person, e go pay the person wey get the animal. 13 If na bush animal tear-am, make the person bring-am as proof. E no go pay for something wey bush animal tear.
14 “But if anybody talk say e want borrow animal from im neighbor, and the animal come get serious injury or e die when the person wey get-am no dey with-am, the man wey borrow-am must pay for-am. 15 If the person wey get the animal dey with-am, the person wey borrow-am no go pay for-am. If na hire e hire the animal, the money wey e pay to hire the animal go be the payment.
16 “Now if man deceive virgin wey person never promise to marry and e sleep with the girl, e must pay the bride-price for-am so that e go be im wife. 17 If the girl papa no gree at all to give the girl to the man, the man go still pay the money wey them de pay for bride-price.
18 “Make you no ever allow woman wey de do magic to live.
19 “You must make sure say you kill anybody wey de sleep with animal.
20 “Make you kill anybody wey do sacrifice to other gods apart from only Jehovah.
21 “Make you no ever treat stranger anyhow or suffer-am, because before, una live as strangers for the land of Egypt.
22 “Make una no ever treat any widow or pikin wey no get papa* for bad way. 23 If you ever treat-am for bad way and e cry come meet me, I no go fail to hear im cry; 24 I go really vex and I go kill una with sword, and una wives go be widows and una children no go get papa.
25 “If you borrow money to any poor person* among my people wey de stay with you, make you no treat-am the way people wey their work na to borrow money to people de do. Make una no ever collect interest from the person.
26 “If you seize your neighbor cloth as something to keep for wetin e borrow, make you give-am back for evening. 27 Because na the only thing wey e get to use cover, na im cloth wey e de use cover im body;* wetin e go wear to lie down sleep? When e cry come meet me, I go surely hear, because I de show pity.*
28 “Make you no ever curse* God or curse person wey be chief* among your people.
29 “Make you no ever draw body go back to give offerings from the plenty things wey your farm produce and the plenty wine and oil wey de flow from where you de produce them. You go give me your firstborn sons. 30 This one na wetin you go do with your bull and your sheep: Make e continue to dey with im mama for seven days. For the eighth day, you go give-am to me.
31 “Make una show say una be my holy people, and make una no ever chop the flesh of anything wey bush animal don tear for bush. Make una troway-am give dogs.
