UMESIYA! Inkolelo yokufika kwakhe yayikhuthazwa kumaJuda emakhulwini amaningi eminyaka. Nokho, lapho uJesu waseNazaretha efika, amaJuda amaningi ekugcineni amphika njengoMesiya. Ezingqondweni zamaJuda, uJesu akabanga yilokho ayekulindele.
Elithi “Mesiya” lisho “ogcotshiwe.” KumaJuda leligama laba elimelela inzalo yeNkosi uDavide eyayizoletha ukubusa okukhazimulayo. (2 Samuweli 7:12, 13) Ngesikhathi kufika usuku lukaJesu kwase kungamakhulu amaningi eminyaka amaJuda ehlupheka ngaphansi kochungechunge lwababusi abeZizwe abanonya. Yachotshozwa ngobubi bethu; isijeziso sasiphezu kwayo ukuba sibe-nokuthula, nangemivimbo yayo siphilisiwe thina. Thina sonke sidukile njengezimvu; yilowo nalowo uphendukele endleleni yakhe; . . . Yacindezelwa, kepha noma yathotshiswa, ayivulanga umlomo wayo; njengewundlu eliyiswa ekuhlatshweni, . . . yahlwithwa ezweni labaphilayo, . . . Babeka ithuna layo kanye nababi.”
UMesiya Ohluphekayo?
Ingabe uIsaya lapha ubikezela ngoMesiya ohluphekayo, nofayo? Abakhulumeli abaningi bamaJuda bathi cha. Abanye bathi iNceku Ehluphekayo yayiyisizwe sakwaIsrayeli ngokwaso phakathi nesikhathi sokuthunjelwa kwaso eBabiloni. Abanye bahlanganisa ukuhlupheka nezinkathi ezinjengezeziMpi Zenkolo noma ukuQothulwa Kwesizwe ngamaNazi.3 Kodwa ingabe lencazelo iyiqiniso uma icusumbulisiswa? Kuyiqiniso ukuthi komunye umongo uIsaya uyakhuluma ngoIsrayeli ‘njengenceku’ kaNkulunkulu. Kodwa ukhuluma ngoIsrayeli njengenceku enhlanhlathayo, enesono! (Isaya 42:19; 44:21, 22) IEncyclopaedia Judaica ngaleyondlela ibonisa lomehluko: “UIsrayeli wangempela unesono kanti iNceku [kaIsaya 53], ayinasono.”4
Ngakho-ke, abanye baphikisa ngokuthi iNceku imelela ‘abalungile abakhethiweyo’ kuIsrayeli abahlupheka ngenxa yamaJuda anesono.5 Kodwa uIsaya akazange akhulume nganoma ibaphi abakhethiwe abanjalo. Izinkulungwane zamaJuda zaqala ukubona ukufana okungenakuphikwa phakathi kweNceku eHluphekayo noJesu waseNazaretha. NjengaleyoNceku, uJesu wayevela endaweni ephansi. Ekugcineni, wadelelwa futhi wagwenywa. Nakuba enganqobanga ngokombangazwe, wathwala izifo zabanye, elapha ngokuyisimangaliso izifo zabo. Nakuba ayengenacala, wafa ngenxa yokwahlulelwa ngokungeyikho—okuyinto ayamukela ngaphandle kokuvukela.
UMesiya Ofayo?
Kungani uMesiya kwakuzodingeka ukuba afe? UIsaya 53:10 uyachaza: “Kodwa INKOSI yakhetha ukumshaya ngezifo, ukuze kuthi, lapho ezenza umnikelo wecala, abone inzalo futhi abe nempilo ende, nokuthi ngaye injongo yeNKOSI ikwazi ukuphumelela.” (Ta) Lokhu kwakhomba emkhubeni wamaLevi wokunikela ngezilwane ukuze kuthethelelwe isono noma icala. UMesiya wayeyofa ukufa okuyihlazo, kodwa njengesisulu somhlatshelo, ukufa kwakhe kwakuyoba nemfanelo yokuthethelela izono.
Nokho, uma uMesiya afa, wayeyozigcwalisa kanjani iziprofetho ezimayelana nokubusa kwakhe okukhazimulayo, ingasaphathwa eyokuba ‘abone inzalo futhi izinsuku zakhe zibe-ziningi’? Ngokunengqondo, kwakuzokwenzeka ngokuba avuswe kwabafileyo. (Qhathanisa neyoku-1 Amakhosi 17:17-24.) Kanti, ukuvuswa kukaMesiya kwakuyomvumela ukuba azigcwalise zombili leziprofetho. Ekuqaleni, wayeyofika ephansi ukuze ahlupheke futhi afe. Ngemva kokuvuswa kwakhe, wayeyobuyela enkazimulweni futhi alethe umbuso wasezulwini wobuMesiya.
Amakhulu ofakazi bokuzibonela abangamaJuda afakaza ukuthi uJesu wavuswa kwabafileyo. (1 Korinte 15:6) Ingabe lokho abakushoyo kumelwe kunganakwa?
UbuJuda NoJesu
AmaJuda amaningi ekhulu lokuqala leminyaka amphika uJesu njengoMesiya. Noma kunjalo, waba nethonya elinamandla ebuJudeni. Nakuba uJesu kuthukela kukhulunywe ngaye kuyiTalmud, okuncane okushiwoyo ngaye kuzama “ukubukela phansi ubuntu bukaJesu ngokuthi wayeyivezandlebe, wazalwa ngomlingo, futhi wafa ukufa okuyihlazo.”a—The Jewish Encyclopedia.9
Isazi esingumJuda uJoseph Klausner siyavuma ukuthi lezindaba “zibonakala sengathi zihloselwe ukuba ngamabomu ziphikise izehlakalo ezibhalwe emaVangelini.”11 Futhi unesizathu esihle! ISonto lamaKatolika layiqhubekisela phambili inzondo yamaJuda ngoJesu ngokuzonda kwalo amaJuda. Nakuba ubuJuda bamelana nokuguqulwa, “ubuKristu babuthinta ngokuphawulekayo ubuJuda. Baphoqelela oRabi ukuba bashintshe izinto ababezigcizelela futhi kwezinye izimo ukuba bashintshe imibono yabo.”12 ORabi bezizukulwane zokuqala babekholelwa ukuthi ithemba lokufika kukaMesiya laligcwele emiBhalweni. Babona izinhlansi zalelothemba emibhalweni yeBhayibheli efana noGenesise 3:15 no-49:10. ITargum yasePalestina yasebenzisa ukugcwaliseka kwevesi likaGenesise 3:15 “osukwini lweNkosi uMesiya.”13 IMidrash Rabbah ngevesi likaGenesise 49:10 yathi: “Lokhu kukhomba kuMesiya oyinkosi.”14 ITalmud nayo yasebenzisa iziprofetho eziningi zikaIsaya, uDaniyeli, noZakariya kuMesiya.15 “Bonke abaprofethi baye baprofetha ngezinsuku zikaMesiya kuphela,” iTalmud, Sanhedrin 99a.16
Kodwa ngaphansi kokucindezela kwemizamo yeLobukholwa yokuguqula, ubuJuda bayibheka ngelinye iso imibono yabo. ImiBhalo eminingi okwase kuyisikhathi eside ibhekiselwa kuMesiya yabuye yachazwa kabusha.17 Njengoba izikhathi zamanje zazintwela, ngaphansi kwethonya lokucusumbulwa kweBhayibheli, ezinye izazi zamaJuda zaphetha ngokuthi ithemba lokuza kukaMesiya aliveli kwanhlobo eBhayibhelini!18
Nokho, ithemba lokuza kukaMesiya, labhekana nokuzalwa kabusha lapho kwakhiwa uMbuso wakwaIsrayeli ngo-1948. UHarold Ticktin uyabhala: ‘Amahlelo amaningi obuJuda abheka ukuvela koMbuso wakwaIsrayeli njengesehlakalo esikhulu esingokwesiprofetho.’19 Noma kunjalo, indaba yokuthi uMesiya osekuyisikhathi eside elindelwe uyofika nini iye yahlala ingaxazululekile ezingqondweni zamaJuda. ITalmud ithi: “Lapho ubona isizukulwane sihaqwe izinkinga eziningi njengokungathi umfula, lindela [uMesiya].” (Sanhedrin 98a)20 Nokho, uMesiya wamaJuda akazange afike phakathi nobusuku obumnyama benkathi yokuQothulwa Kwesizwe noma phakathi nokuzalwa okunesiphithiphithi koMbuso wakwaIsrayeli. Umuntu angase abuze, ‘Iziphi ezinye izinkinga okusamelwe amaJuda abhekane nazo ngaphambi kokuba uMesiya afike?’
Ukufuna UMesiya
Ithemba lokuza kukaMesiya lazalwa futhi lakhuthazwa kumaJuda. Phakathi kwawo lelothemba liye lafiphala. Ukukhanya kwalo sekucishe kwaphela ngenxa yamakhulu amaningi eminyaka okuhlupheka nokudumala. Ngokuhlekisayo, izigidi phakathi kwezizwe, noma abeZizwe, ziye zamfuna uMesiya futhi ekugcineni zamthola. Ingabe kumane kwaqondana nje ukuthi uIsaya wathi ngoMesiya: “Abezizwe bayakuyifuna”? (Isaya 11:10) Ingabe akumelwe ukuba amaJuda nawo azifunele uMesiya? Kungani kumelwe azincishe ithemba lawo osekukudala enalo?
Nokho, akusizi ukufuna uMesiya wesikhathi esizayo. Ukuba ubezofika, ubengazibonisa kanjani ukuthi uyinzalo yangempela yeNkosi uDavide? Amarekhodi okulandelana kozalo awabhubhanga yini nethempeli lesibili? Nakuba amarekhodi anjalo ayekhona osukwini lukaJesu, ukusho kwakhe ukuthi uyinzalo engokomthetho kaDavide akuzange kubekelwe inselele ngokuphumelelayo.b Ingabe noma imuphi ozisholo ukuthi unguMesiya wesikhathi esizayo ubengabuveza ubufakazi obunjalo? Khona-ke umuntu kumelwe afune uMesiya owafika esikhathini esidlule.
Lokhu kudinga ukuba simbheke kabusha uJesu, sibeke eceleni yonke imiqondo esesinayo ngaye. Ukubonakala kwakhe okungenakho ukubonakala kwesilisa okusemifanekisweni yesonto akukubonisi neze ukufana noJesu wangempela. Ukulandisa kwamaVangeli—abhalwa amaJuda—kumbonisa njengendoda enamandla, ekhuthele, umfundisi onokuhlakanipha okukhulu. (Johane 3:2) Eqinisweni, uJesu udlula noma yiliphi iphupho amaJuda ake aba nalo lomkhululi ongokombangazwe. NjengeNkosi enqobayo, ngeke alethe umbuso ontekenteke wezombangazwe, kodwa uMbuso ongenakunqotshwa wasezulwini ozobuyisela iPharadesi emhlabeni wonke lapho “impisi iyokuhlala khona ndawonye nethole.”—Isaya 11:6, JP; IsAmbulo 19:11-16.
Ingabe uyophila kuleyonkathi kaMesiya? UMaimonides waluleka amaJuda ukuba nje ‘alindele ukuza kukaMesiya.’22 Nokho, isikhathi sethu naso sibucayi kakhulu ukuba singazibeka engozini yokuphuthelwa ukubuya kwakhe. Lonke uhlanga lwesintu lumdinga ngokuphelele uMesiya, umkhululi ezinkingeni ezikhathaza leplanethi. Khona-ke manje yisikhathi sokumfuna—sokumfunisisa, ngentshiseko. OFakazi BakaJehova banesithakazelo sokukusiza ukuba wenze kanjalo. Khumbula, ukufuna uMesiya akusho ukuthi umuntu uselahla ifa lakhe lobuJuda, njengoba ithemba lokuza kukaMesiya lingokwemvelo kumaJuda. Futhi ngokufuna uMesiya, ungase uthole ukuthi usefikile kakade.
