28 And when the Midʹi·an·ite+ merchants were passing by, they lifted Joseph up out of the waterpit and sold him to the Ishʹma·el·ites for 20 pieces of silver.+ These men took Joseph into Egypt.
15 Then Pharʹaoh heard about it, and he attempted to kill Moses; but Moses ran away from Pharʹaoh and went to dwell in the land of Midʹi·an,+ and he sat down by a well.
2 The hand of Midʹi·an dominated over Israel.+ Because of Midʹi·an, the Israelites made hiding places* for themselves in the mountains, in the caves, and in the places difficult to approach.+
