24 An altar of earth you are to make for me, and you will sacrifice on it your burnt offerings, your communion sacrifices,* your flock, and your herd. In every place where I cause my name to be remembered+ I will come to you and I will bless you.

5 Rather, seek Jehovah your God wherever he chooses to establish his name and his place of residence among all your tribes, and go there.+ 6 That is where you are to bring your burnt offerings,+ your sacrifices, your tithes,*+ the contribution from your hand,+ your vow offerings, your voluntary offerings,+ and the firstborn of your herd and flock.+

16 ‘From the day I brought my people Israel out of Egypt, I have not chosen a city out of all the tribes of Israel in which to build a house for my name to remain there,+ but I have chosen David to be over my people Israel.’ 17 And it was the heart’s desire of my father David to build a house for the name of Jehovah the God of Israel.+
