8 In the fifth month, on the seventh day of the month, that is, in the 19th year of King Neb·u·chad·nezʹzar the king of Babylon, Neb·uʹzar·adʹan+ the chief of the guard, the servant of the king of Babylon, came to Jerusalem.+
9 Neb·uʹzar·adʹan+ the chief of the guard took into exile to Babylon the rest of the people who were left in the city, the deserters who had defected to him, and anyone who remained.
40The word that came to Jeremiah from Jehovah after Neb·uʹzar·adʹan+ the chief of the guard let him go free from Raʹmah.+ He had taken him there bound with handcuffs, and he was among all the exiles of Jerusalem and of Judah who were being deported to Babylon.
