10 The scepter will not depart from Judah,+ neither the commander’s staff from between his feet, until Shiʹloh* comes,+ and to him the obedience of the peoples will belong.+

20 Jehovah has carried out the promise that he made, for I have succeeded my father David and I sit on the throne of Israel, just as Jehovah promised. I have also built the house for the name of Jehovah the God of Israel+

11 “‘“When your days come to an end and you go to be with your forefathers, I will raise up your offspring* after you, one of your sons,+ and I will firmly establish his kingship.+ 12 He is the one who will build a house for me,+ and I will firmly establish his throne forever.+ 13 I will become his father, and he will become my son.+ I will not remove my loyal love from him+ the way I removed it from the one who was prior to you.+ 14 I will cause him to stand in my house and in my kingship forever,+ and his throne will last forever.”’”+

The zeal of Jehovah of armies will do this.

9 Moreover, the crowds going ahead of him and those following him kept shouting: “Save, we pray, the Son of David!+ Blessed is the one who comes in Jehovah’s name!+ Save him, we pray, in the heights above!”*+

30 Because he was a prophet and knew that God had sworn to him with an oath that he would seat one of his offspring on his throne,+
