22 “Happy are you whenever men hate you,+ and when they exclude you+ and reproach* you and denounce* your name as wicked for the sake of the Son of man.+ 23 Rejoice in that day and leap for joy, for look! your reward is great in heaven, for those are the same things their forefathers used to do to the prophets.+

17 However, even if I am being poured out like a drink offering+ on the sacrifice+ and the holy service to which your faith has led you, I am glad and I rejoice with all of you.

2 Consider it all joy, my brothers, when you meet with various trials,+ 3 knowing as you do that this tested quality of your faith produces endurance.+

10 Brothers, take as a pattern of the suffering of evil+ and the exercising of patience+ the prophets who spoke in the name of Jehovah.*+ 11 Look! We consider happy* those who have endured.+ You have heard of the endurance of Job+ and have seen the outcome Jehovah* gave,+ that Jehovah* is very tender in affection* and merciful.+

14 But even if you should suffer for the sake of righteousness, you are happy.+ However, do not fear what they fear,* nor be disturbed.+

12 Beloved ones, do not be surprised about the fiery trials that you are experiencing,+ as though something strange were happening to you. 13 On the contrary, go on rejoicing+ over the extent to which you are sharers in the sufferings of the Christ,+ so that you may rejoice and be overjoyed also during the revelation of his glory.+
